with the split roo, yes you'll get chocolate girls that carry the lacing genes. the other pullets will NOT carry chocolate. the roos might or might not carry chocolate, but you'd never know it without test breeding.
breed the chocolate pullets to a silver laced roo with excellent lacing and type. that will make all the cockerels split chocolate and then breed them to the best silver laced hen you can find. that'll give you some chocolate laced silver girls. keep going back to silver laced with either chocolate girls or split roos. then once you've got great type and lacing on chocolate girls, go back to the best split chocolate roos you have, and you'll start getting chocolate roos.
sex linked mutations are stupid simple to work with, it's the lacing and type that's the kicker.
