I hatched 21/25 barnyard mixes this weekend for my neighbor. This hatch rate is better than my 50% I had with the NYE hatch-a-long! We got quite a nice variety of colors, also. My neighbors are thrilled, but I am SO ready to hatch some more for me.

I just bought 6 chicks to keep him company. And I have. 30 more eggs in the incubator. I can already feel the chicken math setting in.

These are two of the chicks I brought home today. They were labeled "red pullet" so I'm assuming they're some sort of sex linked breed.

Here's a group photo. Two of the other four are GLW, and the other two are barred rocks. I really can't tell them apart though.

I need some help from all you addicts out there!!!  I just received a Humidaire 2000 cabinet 'bator and I am having a hard time figuring out how to adjust the temp.  It is set at 98.6 and is holding like a champ....not helpful!!  Does anyone know how to adjust these sweet hearts?  I also need to know how to tell if my humidity is right...the reading doesn't make sense.  The other one I am using is a Humidaire drum style and it has a wet bulb and a a wing nut adjusts the temp....this one has the 'mother board' digital controls, but nothing that talks about adjusting temp...please help....I NEED this puppy up and running soon.

I do not know that model but I did not like tje adjusting on our old one and we upgraded to digital. I can dig out the link for the part we bought that dh installed. You did not say if it had a fan. Where is the water tray? We adjust humidity by adjusting the surface of water available by adding wicks to it. I could not get ours over 45 for hatching but it is a huge model.

33 eggs 31 hatched. 2 Barred Rocks pipped and chirping.

Its 16 hours into day 20!

We may get a 100% hatch!!!

Its almost unbelievable!!

when I hatch in USA I get these numbers.

its the equatorial conditions I am fighting that make it so exciting

even broodies on CocoBeach only get 60% hatch rates
