If I had one that big I would have Soooo many chickens. It would be way too easy to get out of ccontrol lol. My incubator only holds 42 so I add chickens in small amounts.

Mine holds 42 also. Which is really a good number . If I had one that held 350 eggs I would have soo many chickens that I wouldn't know where to put them all LOL!
But you have to admit ,IT SOUNDS GOOD

I do love hatching the babies though and it's really hard not to. Thank goodness I am not overrun with chickens as I sell my extras. The problem is now winter is coming at us and it will be harder to sell our extras until spring.

Hi my name is Dana and I too have a hatching problem. I have been clean since the end of June, but plan to fall off the wagon sometime this weekend. I need to send 5 boys off to freezer camp, but can't possibly do this without hatching a few. The boys are very pretty wheaten and lavender ameraucanas. I've just got to do it. You understand. Can you explain it to my husband? He couldn't understand why there was a carton of eggs on the kitchen counter.

It's like checks and balances. For every 10 boys you have to send to camp you have to hatch 24 more eggs. It's only fair since you never know you could end up with all boys so you need to hatch extra just to be sure. :p

My cat got in the box I was putting my collected eggs in to put in my new incubator (WHICH WILL BE HERE MONDAY SQUEEEEE!) and CRACKED ONE OF MY BANTAM COCHIN EGGS! I cried. I admit it. It didn't even get a chance to be incubated! The cat is in trouble.

Today I learned that a VIP in the Ameraucana world lives only one hour from me and she has offered to collect eggs and sell them to me when I'm ready. I am so glad my bator is full!

I'm sure by the time my Dominiques and Cuckoo Marans hatch ( October 1) , I will forget all about this fact. Because I am done hatching eggs. Completely over it. And anyways, it will be a little chilly by then to have chicks go from the brooder to the coop outside. Of course I could move them into a small coop I'm putting together inside the barn. They would be warm enough there until Spring. Now that I think about it, it would probably be SMART to get some of those Ameraucauna eggs because if I get them in October, they won't hatch til, say, November. And then hopefully I will get some pullets, and it will be April before they start laying, at the earliest! And I'll have to get wait and check the fertility rate before I start selling eggs on auction....Wait! Easter is in April! I will need to be selling Ameraucauna chicks by then. All kinds of chicks by then! I'm sure the local feed store will need some

, plus chicks are a hot item on CL in the spring!

I need to get another bator NOW

so I can get those eggs going! Otherwise, I may lose out! Stop hatching eggs??? What was I thinking??? I don't need this group

this is just ridiculous

....Incubators Anonymous oh for goodness sakes!

Now that is my way of thinking. You really don't want to lose out on those eggs and you never know you could get alot of pullets out of it ,that means MORE eggs for the bator!More eggs means more chicks ,more chicks means more to sell to all those folks wanting them this spring(or keep)
