That is what a splash Isbar looks like. I hatched three two weeks ago.

Quote: Isbars come in Black, Blue, and Splash. (Every now and them you might get a white) but ususally when your Isbar chick is yellow at birth, it will be a splash. It is only a few days old and I can already see faint dark splashes coming in!
Since I am new at this, I can only guess. But I read that they use up a lot of oxygen at birth. You might want to check to see if your vents are opened after hatch. Sorry about your loses.I had a good hatch on my SFH..... I set 18 eggs, 17 made it to lockdown and 16 hatchedIt was almost short lived though. I left them in the hatcher over night since not all were hatched. The next morning I came in and found most of them laying down.... my heart sank...... NOT AGAIN! I opened it up pulled them out. 2 were dead.... several were very limp some woke up and stirred but didn't seem quite right. I put them in the brooder, I knew one was not going to make it. ... it didn't. BUT the rest seemed much better this morning. They were kinda shaky after I took them out but most of that was gone today. 1 still seemed like he didn't have his land legs yet. ALL the other chicks were fine.... any ideas what that could have been???? I can only guess it was heat. They were all in one basket and maybe with that many they just got too hot.![]()
More are hatching today, project eggs, blue barred rocks, SLW and WL. I think 7 were out and several more had pipped. My bator has been running cool at night so they may be a little late.
