I set my eggs on 1/2/13 so today at 10pm should be day 8 should they all have a big dot (eye) visible and if not are they not growing dead? Hope not :-(

What color are the eggs? Brown eggs are harder than white for sure. If you are in doubt wait till day 10. You really should be seeing veins at day 8.... Did you?

I had a major relapse , when i started hatching agian I used a mini eco so I thought I could manage my addiction but now I have
8 shipped Orp eggs in my eco
6 of my serama eggs in a box with a light (experament)
5 of my serama eggs under a broody hen
12 store eggs
4 shipped bob white eggs
3 off my serama eggs
15 off my cortunix quail eggs all in my beat up second hand LG with fan
And I just started up my new chic bator and will probly put a few button or cot eggs in that to test it out if I can get the temp up above 90

I am addicted to incubating!
I cant wait for my ducks to start laying again!
W e got some random days of warm weather and my pekin laid 3 random eggs! I thought it was my runners, one of them, laying secretly... But the pekin was the only one in the cage the one day and there was an egg! But I know the eggs are cross bred... between pekin and runner. I can't wait for them to hatch! I have one of the 3 eggs piped, 2nd egg is moving alot! and the 3rd is finally starting to move. Yay!

I totally relapsed too! I almost had the bator empty and then people had to go posting all these great deals on eggs I want! LOL.....plus have been setting my dark Brahmas and rocks, though that's more to test fertility, and they've only been giving me a few here and there...still, the bator is full again and looks like I will have to fire up another one for the incoming!!

Thanks 3 are darker light brown one white the white o cam see the eye (dot) others i cant all habe vains visible no bad smell at all

I guess all i can do is wait also

set swap eggs and some of my own last night. now to wait patiently....

Yeah but it would just take that one batch of eggs that did really well in shipping and you would have a ton of chicks. I started out with 14 chicks. I did 10 eggs my first hatch and got 5 chicks, then I did a second hatch with 36 eggs and got 12 chicks, then I did 42 eggs and got only 7. I am just thinking if by some chance I get a really good batch of eggs I would be over run. My only problem now is my ratio of boys to girls. Out of the first two hatches I have 9 boys. Not sure about the last one yet they are too young but I am sure that half or more are boys (it seems like a year for it).

I am okay with sending them to freezer camp but everyone else keeps saying no don't do that they are too cute lol. If I listened to everyone else I would have over 100 chickenss
