Also I do not plan on using the incubating anymore till next month as I will be letting the local school use the incubator for a science class because the teacher there has been unsuccessful for the last 3 years running so I am going to set every thing up for them and donate the egg's and check out their progress daily so I have everything under control here ......

this is my real problem unauthorized hatching

Ya she just takes it upon herself to incubate

Well I cleaned up and put away my incubator after having it running from January till the middle of August then yesterday one of my young pullets that has been missing for several weeks showed up with some new additions to present to me :jumpy :jumpy :jumpy :jumpy :jumpy :jumpy :jumpy Ya she just wont let me stop :lau gander007 :old
That's hilarious! At least u tried! I have a guinea missing, I'm hoping she's going to come home soon with a little brood also. I hate to think of the alternative. :/

Well crap! I'm supposed to have a man coming to buy juvies today. I went out to collect them, cause I won't let others walk in my chicken area, and its so wet and muddy out there!! Rained all day and all night, & I have fluffy birds!!! Grrrr! This should be my LAST set that I didn't use medicated chick start for. I had turkey poults also at the time, so was using game bird starter. I've never had so many dang issues with Cocci, but I've ALWAYS used medicated in the past. Guess I'm not selling birds this week.

Here are some of her First of July chicks ......

First egg to hatch was 2 July 2014
jumpy.gif

This is the mass of egg's she was sitting on and yes others
would come in and give her more overtime ......

3 July she hatched out more ...

4 July the egg's just keep hatching ...

4 July I had to put feed and water in the nesting area as the chicks
were all over the place and were a hand full for her ....

As you can see her first hatch was becoming overwhelming
for her so I removed the rest of the egg's and put them into
the incubator to finish off the hatching for her ....

But she decided it was time to get a bigger home with some
room to move around in ....

Kids will clime all over ya if you let them .....

So I just so happened to have some Marans chicks coming
in and she took them also .....

This was her new home for three more weeks so with her
hatching and my finishing and the new chicks she raised
30 chicks on her first run then started producing more egg's
during the forth week of raising the chicks and off she went
to start her next bunch ......
