I know, they are a great deal larger than my phyllis.. I am looking for Cochin but I need a bigger bird. So I need full size so those birds of yours are right up my alley.

It is based on the number of posts you have. I'm not sure if there's anything else to be explained. This thread has all the post counts for each level: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/636152/what-are-the-different-forum-post-levels
LOL if you miss a day its as much as 10 pagesMine really appreciated the rain today. now its a big muddy mess. And happy birthday!
It was several of us, I will be doing a demo. The 2nd link is where I learned it! I started it last august, been going ever since.
The first article gives the many reasons to do it.
Oh, and have found out, quail like it too!![]()
Will you be at our chickenfest? we are pretty far away. It looks like I have a few wyandotte that are between 6-8 weeks, it may be better if they are younger than your shyer girls.
The EE I have are very hard to tell until they get around 5 months. so far all I have of them are roos!![]()
ChrisN- wow those are pretty snakes!! Didnt know there were that many colors!
Great collection! I had a few several years ago (pastels, super pastels, spiders, albinos, fires, cinnamons, I think that's it). The genetics of ball pythons have always intrigued me. Very jealous of your silver streak! They are probably one of my favorite morphs.
We're still trying to decide if we can make the drive down from northern Indiana for next week's chicken fest. I wanted to look at the info about it again, but I can't remember when it was last posted & I don't have a lot of time to search a gazillion posts! Could it be posted one more time, please?
Brad -- did you say you were or were not able to come? Chloe would like to learn to process some of her quail. If he's not there, can anyone else teach quail processing? She also just got her first quail egg 2 days ago!
You can get a couple of small swivel pulleys at the hardware store. String up a rope to the door through the pulleys and run it over to where you have easy access. Pull the rope and tie it off to open the door. Loose it to close the door. A knot in the rope and a notch in a board will relieve you of having to tie it off.
I have a cousin who built a chicken coop for his wheelchair bound son that was entirely operated by ropes and pulleys. The father filled the feeders on the weekend and the son did everything else from his chair. I was highly impressed. As I recall, the building project lasted longer than the son's interest. Oh well.

Bumping this to see if anyone has a thought. The turkey I am bringing for the demo is huge.
Trying to find a BIG pot that will hold water and allow temps of 145 degrees.
I may have to buy something, but hoping someone coming for the processing demo has something that big.

Thank you, I will look them up. I have to keep them in the coop/run with playtime in the garden or they will get eaten by something but those sound interesting too.
Any suggestions as to where I can get some if these this time of year?
