INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

The Poultry check in is tomorrow and I found the chickens with lice :/ I'm going to dust my show bird and put her in a cage and then dust the rest when I'm done with my show bird

Good luck! We are maybe going to the fair tomorrow afternoon. Hope your bird does great!

Guys, been searching all over, I had someone ask what the member thing is for.. just hatched, out of the brooder etc.. I know its based on posts, isn't there somewhere its explained?

Seems like the roos show a strong contrast coloring around their hackles. I am going to start making guesses earlier on and see if I can get it right using bands. (If we ever get flocks split up again!)

we are having a get together the 28th, you could meet and make the swap there!
I sex by color pattern. It is actually pretty easy.

Bumping this to see if anyone has a thought. The turkey I am bringing for the demo is huge.
Trying to find a BIG pot that will hold water and allow temps of 145 degrees.
I may have to buy something, but hoping someone coming for the processing demo has something that big.

Do you think he'll fit in a 5 gal bucket? We could heat the water and dump it in one for scalding.

Does anyone have an EE roo to get rid of? Pretty one?? I was going to keep my Black Austraporp because he is so pretty( was supposed to be a girl) and he is friendly but he is getting so big, too big for the girls. I'll trade him if anyone is interested or he is up for grabs or is might be going to freezer camp!!

Is it to big for a turkey fryer? That's what we used for our roos, it worked out really nice.
