Champion Asiatic- with a Blue cochin pullet
Champion Continental with a welsummer cockrel
Champion SCCL with her Columbian Plymouth rock cockrel
Champion silkie pullet
Res. Champion Pullet with a Light Brown Leghorn bantam
4 Res. Champions-heck I can' t even remember who won all of those. LOL !!!
So she had a good year !!!
Wow! Very impressive. Glad to hear you got such great results.

Jchny- I'm thinking dog too! Saw a dead fox on the road when I left for work yesterday( couple miles away) almost applauded!! I did find a pile of unknown scat, looks like bear!!! Spent an hour on the Internet last night looking at scat!! Now there's a date nigh for ya!! Didn't find anything. I actually have a couple of game cameras. Not sure they would've gotten it though. It all very irratating!
Haha!!! I may have applauded

. Just joking, Its sad to see wild animals killed on the road. Fox is rare to get hit.the trick with the game cam, don't point it at the coop. but along the fenced areas. If you have an extra then do point one at the coop.

Yay judging today excited and nervous

Update on the sandy silkie crop, It was empty this morning. She is fine. Must have just eaten too much with her fruit. Fiber to the max!

We use the washed natural sand they sell at the landscaping place. Its construction grade. Low silica. Thanks for all of your help. She is my little kitten.

Quinstar~ Hope your Tansy girl returns! You have really been through the ups and downs lately.
danand ~ I guess your husband returned from Brazil (I've been meaning to ask). So sorry to hear of the horrible attack on your hens/roo! I wonder if it was a dog on the loose.
DarthLayer~ Your lavender ameraucanas are beautiful! I didn't know they "came" in that color.
CRSelvey~ Loved your Fair photos and descriptions! I'm planning on checking out the chickens at the Vanderburgh Co. Fair this week. I'm so glad that the temps have dropped since last week's heat and humidity.
My girls were purring! I've heard of chickens purring, but never have felt if I heard a "purr" or just a "predator alert" sound. With mild temps today, I took injured Violet and nurse Adeline outside for a dustbath. They were so happy and definitely purred! It was so sweet. Since Violet couldn't really roll in the dirt because of her hurt leg, Adeline helped kick dirt on Violet and groomed her feathers. Since it's supposed to be nice all week, DH and I moved the chicken tractor to a nice secluded spot in the fenced in backyard (away from the nosey hens) so the little girls can spend more time outside although I'm sure I'll be checking on them every half hour. I took this photo with my phone so it's too dark in some areas and too light in others (blame it on the phone!)

Both girls are just gorgeous!

I didn't see your post or I would have replied. My Marans has had the same thing going on and her crop empties by morning. :) Your girl sure is pretty!

CRS- boy you Said it!!!My DH is like .....chickens, chickens , chickens.....that's all you talk about now!! And yeah he is a bit overwhelmed with building a coup too! He built me a really cool shed at our last house but we are both older now!!!
That sounds like my DH ~ I'm preoccupied with chicken-related topics. haha
CRSelvey~ I suppose you're inquiring about OldSalt's Cochins so you can demonstrate to your DH that spending so much time on the coop was worthwhile. : - )
Also, when your DH is ready to build a Goat Villa, jchny has experience with different breeds of goats.

LittleAmerMom~ Great job by your daughter! That's quite a collection of Fair entries.
vicki chicki~ Hang in there! Hope your produce stand is doing well.
danand & jchny~ The other day we noticed a young red fox that was hit by a car on our subdivision road at the top of the hill. boo hoo. I thought it was sad, but I haven't had one in my coop either. We've have occasional fox sightings for years at the top of the hill where there's an adjacent woodsy ravine-like area.
kabhyper~ Glad to hear your baby is fine today! I love her soft color. Is that called Lavender or Blue or Silver or Gray?
