INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I know! I always tempt myself about buying eggs, but my goal is not to put any eggs in the incubator till next spring but its so hard because I just can't help myself from looking at the hatching eggs section on here.
Me too! I have found 7 different things I have wanted to bid on but my incubator is full, which I guess could be considered a good thing lol. She anwsered my messsage. Hopefully I can get some egg or something.

She getting rid of her AM flock and already has buyer lined up, but she might might be able to send eggs will have to see. I feel like I am doing a play by play lol. Ipretty much am!

Holy Moses my lil roo is walking! I went down to feed him and he's standing in his crate. Hes walking but still horrible coordination. Huge improvement though from yesterday. Now I don't know what to think. I hope I can get the vet to send off that blood sample tomorrow.

I called martinsville too.  They won't be getting more chicks till the spring hatching season.  Unless enough of us call and pester them.  Martinsville is a lot closer to me so I kind of wish they would get some of the broilers in.  Their price is cheaper than the hatchery price for small quantities not even counting shipping.

Broilers was what I was hoping to get when we went but they just had ISAs :(

Please stop breeding awesome chickens! I'm not going to have enough room next spring!
haha. I'm really liking these tolbunt.

After googling some images for the tolbunt breed, I have to say they are very pretty and colorful.    I hope you get fertile eggs soon.
thanks. I was worried that the tolbunt I hatched were going to stay black and white with minimal brown, but looks like they are getting more coloring!

Here are some pics of the new chicks with mama enjoying the day

It is very light. Ill take a pic tonight.

Okay guys, my cochin pullet is being a weirdo. I noticed the other day she was sitting in the nest box for a really long time, then when she came out she went under the coop while everyone else was free ranging. I thought she might be ill, so I kept an eye on her. She was eating and drinking fine, and went out with the others,so I figured she was just getting ready to lay an egg. Anyway I always call her my faker, because when she sits in the box she never lays. I have checked her over to see if she was egg bound and there is no obvious signs of it. Today she has spent most of the day in the box. I reached in to feel for her vent, and she isn't pushing like she is trying to lay. Just hanging out in there. No distress. Is it possible for a 6 month old cochin who as far as I know has yet to lay an egg, to go broody? I hope she isn't egg bound, but I don't see how she could be. She sleeps with everyone at night on the roosts.
sounds like she's going broody! I have 2 girls that are broody and one is a 6 month old Marans who had laid less than a dozen eggs so far.
