Change of plans for me can't get more chickens tell next week me my little sis and little bro ended up getting head bugs :/ don't want to give the lice to the new baby chickens grr but the good thing is that we caught it really early and we all got shower caps and Mayo in our hair.... its so gross

Just to let you know, lice is species specific. You can't get chicken lice, chickens can't get human lice.

Ideal poultry emailed me yesterday and fortunately I got home in time to call them back. They wanted to move my order up. So I'll have babies sooner than planned by a couple days. Tink I'll go check out Greensburg Rural K and see what they've got so I can do more. I want to get started on them because I'd love to go on vacation in May and it'd be nice if they were bigger for the animal sitter!!

Just to let you know, lice is species specific. You can't get chicken lice, chickens can't get human lice.

I found out when I worked for a vets office and I was asked to hold a cat. Once I started holding it, the vet informed me that it had lice! I was freaking out until they told me that they were species specific. They thought it was funny of course.

So sorry cluckacre Igot the flu yesterday, really bad. Not going up to see my baby nephew. Kills me, but Iwouldnt even make the car ride. Been in bed since noon yesterday. I have never been sick like this. It's a bad one.
On an up note... Isent my DH and the kids out to get our egg for the day yesterday, and there was 2! Finally moving along. Won't be too much longer til Ican get an incubator or build one. I'll wait til my carton is full in the fridge then start collecting for a hatch.

Found a silkie hen dead in nest box. Dont know what happened. Im having a rough winter this year!
