INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Ok just made up my mind. Going to Rural King In Logansport to get chicks. I know I have 35 in incubator and just set another 20 today but i want chicks now cant wait. Wife dont know yet so SHHHHHH!!! LOL

I went to our Rural King yesterday and picked up 3 more ee and 3 light brahmas. They are in a separate brooder from my other 9 5 week old chicks. Of those i have 5 Australorps, 2 ee's and 2 blrw. For a grand total of 15. Working on fixing an old shed. I thought it was 8 x 8 but hubby says its 10 x 10. So still plenty of room.

They had araucanas ameraucana-strain (aka ee's), light brahmas, RIR, isa browns, black sex links, buff orpingtons, and california grey leghorns. Very happy with my new babies this morning.

My DH declared I have lost my marbles. But don't tell him that I caught him playing with the chicks last night and talking to them! haha

I stopped a the one in Lafayette and did very well resisting the temptation! The main reason is I don't want to brood in the house if all possible and waiting till warmer weather. I also got some light brahmas though.

Cute little guys! I'm questioning if those lighter ones are really brahmas though? They don't have the feathery legs like they should.

So i just got back about an hour ago from Rsutr101's place picking up an incubator. The bator is up and running and holding temps steady! I'm working on getting humidity correct. It is too high right now. May need to go to smaller water dish. Anyways, I got to say his birds are beautiful! I have never seen langshan chickens in person until I saw his. Man are they huge! The bantams are even much larger than I expected. Heck his bantams are about the same size as my LF layers lol! They are definitely on my want list now!
