So sorry to hear it.

Here are my newest chicks from Rural King. I got 3 EE's and 3 Light Brahmas

My DH declared I have lost my marbles. But don't tell him that I caught him playing with the chicks last night and talking to them! haha

the babies are lovely! We went to the new castle store tonight, they told me on the phone they had bantam and BO's. nope.. the young man said i was misinformed,. So i got home, and had a call from my sis in law. Looks like a friend of hers is giving up keeping chickens... Is offering me her flock. WoW, guess i will busy saturday!
She has about 25 birds, just under a year old.
Hows that for chicken math

Thanks for the welcome! I'm beginning to see how that chicken math works! Our store didn't have any bantams either. All I know is, I am having a blast with these chickens. Their little personalities have me laughing in fits. I can't wait for warmer weather to get them outside and see what they do then.

Last year i was gifted 6 GLW and i was in love. I have been adding and adding ever since! I am up to 41 chickens, 6 geese, 4 muscovy, 4 guinea hen and 4 pigs lol! Up til recently had alpaca too, had to rehome them due to annexing and "animal unit per acre" crap going on. Next meeting is the 25th, I plan to fight it all the way.

The Rural King in Logansport had Blue, White and another color Silkies, Araucana, ISA, NHR. I called before I left to see what they had in. They told me They had Blue and White Silkies, Araucanas, ISA and NHR's. To Logansport from my house is about 1hr. I wanted to get a few of everything specially the silkies. Well got up there and all they had left was Araucana's and NHR's. So I got 6 of each. They sold out of the others within that hour of me driving there. LOL Here is a few pics. I still have to put some cardboard up around the side some and put the bedding in.

I am quite new to chickens. I have 9 chicks 5 weeks old and now these. I'm betting I can't get anymore for a while lol.

And please do fight it, I live in the country and have 2 acres and I can't have chickens requirement 5 acres for my county. But the city just ok'd for city residents up to 6 chickens. Ofc there are requirement, all of which I meet. I' m just in the county not the city. Stupid IMHO! So the more of us that stand up the better. Good luck with you fight.

I was in the Jasper, IN Rural King today and they have the bins set up for their chicks but have not received them in yet. I would say all Rural Kings should have their shipments in within the next week or so. I got our chicks the last week of February last year and they had already had them about a week, so maybe you'll be lucky! ;-)
