INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Last weekend I went to TSC in Boonville since they had a farm animal swap day. I got two Mille Fleur bantam pullets (one of which is in a tree in Evansville ((can they ever fly)) and my sister is desperately trying to catch it) and the other will be moving out with the rest of them in a couple weeks. I also got two Black Copper Marans from a different from a different person and when I got them home I found this on there heads: It looks like dandruff holding onto the feathers or non-moving lice. Any help would be appreciated.
I dont know what it is. But the way its eye looks worries me. It dosent look exactly like ocular mareks but similar. It could also have cataracts or be blind. Was it the way the picture was taken or is that what it always looks like? Here is what ocular mareks looks like (like I said similar looking, but not exactly the same)

Not trying to get you all worried or anything, just wondering if there is something wrong with it. I hope their isnt.
The bird blinked. There's nothing wrong with its eyes. Honestly, the bird looks like it has a REALLY bad infestation of lice. If you fullview the picture, you can see that that stuff on its neck is nits. Give these birds a thorough bath and treat them with something for lice.

ok, just wanted to be sure. I agree with it having a really bad infestation of lice. Cheap dog flea shampoo and white vinegar works really good to get rid of lice. You can find specifics on how to wash they on BYC

why are the lice so far from the vent? is it that there are so many? I thought it looked like lice eggs too but the location threw me.

I usually see them under the wings. I have never seen them on the vents of my chickens. There isnt a certain location they have to be at. I always bath my chickens before and after shows, I have had chickens come home with lice! not very happy when that happens, would think people would make sure their chickens didnt have them before shows, but some just dont care

Just left the Bloomington show. Saw PRBirdhaven and Lil Americauna Mom, but think I was too late to see anyone else.

The birds were great. I was in awe at the size of some of the Rocks and others. Makes my birds look banty. Nice birds for sale too. A very good way to get quality birds. Nothing for me though. I did see my first La Flèche, but it was a bantam. If it would have been LF, it would be in the car right now.

Makes me look forward to the Lebanon show. I'll definitely be there first thing.

I got there about 11 AM. I didnt meet any BYCers. I did enjoy walking around looking at all the chickens with my daughters.

from my one pen of 13 pullets I am getting 2-4 eggs. It is sad lol, i give them a hard time, even though i dont actually care. I go in there and give them a speech sometimes (ya im weird). It is most likely the weather. Not sure whats up with your one girls foot,I would have to see a picture.

I'll get a pic of the leg tomorrow, I'm sure its nothing. This being my first year with chickens, I'm still learning what "normal" is for lots of things. As far as the eggs go, we got the BA's because they like to lay in the winter time. Here is it the first day of fall, and they have pretty much gone on strike. It's all good, just for personal use, we don't sell the eggs or anything. Mostly just concerned.
