They won't be playing on the floor long enough for a rug lol. I have a steamer for our floor I used it a lot last spring with the first chicks. The little tv is our security camera monitor lol. Yes they are a little young for NCIS. ;)

anyone here raise frizzle cochin bantams I may be looking to add some in spring!
i have smooth feathered Cochin bantams. And I know Vickichicki also has some bantam Cochins. My oldest is about 2 months old now and just the fluffiest most docile chick I have. I can't wait till my younger chicks get older.
I got some new pics of the silkies tonight. They are 2 weeks to a month old now. The youngest ... These guy will be 3 weeks friday.. And the two oldest. Blue Bell and little Chance.
they all look great! I'm needing more white silkies, so if you have any extra eggs you ever want to sell let me know!

Brad, they are still laying. Do you want me to save some back for you? I can't guarantee all whites, my roo is blue. I got 5 whites out of 14 that hatched. Since you have bred silkies before, what do you think of thier development so far in the feathering department? Normal for their ages or under developed? My hens have huge crests so does Booker my roo, so I hope they get them too.

This is off the chicken topic, but a while back a number of us were talking about caregiving with parents/other relatives with dementia or Alzheimer's. I found this quote on Pinterest and just started crying as I read it -- especially as things are getting a lot tougher now with Mom's progression of dementia. I think I need to print it out & stick it on the fridge to look at often! I thought those of you in the same situation might like it too...

Alzheimer’s Request

Do not ask me to remember,
don’t try to make me understand.
Let me rest and know you’re with me,
kiss my cheek and hold my hand.

I’m confused beyond your concept,
I’m sad and sick and lost.
All I know is that I need you,
to be with me at all cost.

Do not lose your patience with me,
do not scold or curse or cry.
I can’t help the way I’m acting,
I can’t be different though I try.

Just remember that I need you,
that the best of me is gone.
Please don’t fail to stand beside me,
love me ‘til my life is gone.

Oh my, brought me tears too. Needs to be shared to anyone with a parent family gives care for.
Thank you for sharing

Moring everyone!!! Pepper is doing the same, no worse and no better. Still holding her foot up and using her knee to walk. Shes been resting inside a dog carrier since monday shes eating and drinking just fine but I can tell she misses her sisters. She outside on the porch in the carrier getting some fresh air. After watching the youtube videos I cant say for sure its not the slow moving Mareks but the way they held their feet is a little than how she is holding hers. Also I saw her itch the back of her head with her hurt foot which instantly made me happy to see her use the toenails that I thought she couldnt feel. Although it might be common and I just dont know that lol. I HAVE HOPE!!!! Im doing some leg exercises to see if it'll helps. Thank you to you all!!!!

at the bottom of my post is an excellent member list.
it shows all the breeds our members offer and who has them, and where they live.
You can sort the list by breed, location etc.
Its also fast to post LOL!
Quote: Dad repeats many of his important life stories many times a day now. Thank you for mentioning that

I love the idea of a memory book, Dad has composed so many piano tunes I do not want to go silent.
All of us that are caring for elderly parents just need to go slow and listen. Let them repeat the memories.
My Dad was very active in church, worked 7 days a week, and is my absolute hero all my life.
Every moment with him now I treasure. Now is where I need to give him that strength of soul he gave me.
Mom has always been my "safe zone" from skinned knees to a broken heart. Its my turn to give that to her, and make her feel safe.
Its very hard to look ahead and plan for them but must be done.
