INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

ccc...Chickens I noticed the milk jugs. Do you have any plans for your milk jugs. We drink a lot of milk and while I use the empty jug to take water to the coop after two or three trips the jug gets dropped somewhere and I use the next empty one. So we have lots of milk jugs hanging out but with no real plans other to trash them when we clean the unfinished garage.

lol, everyone is probably wondering why I have so many milk jugs. During winter I will gut part of it open and fill them with water and then I can just toss them when they freeze and get a new one. i find it easier than trying to bust out the ice, or taking up the room to thaw them in the house. Plus some shows don't provide food and water cups and you can cut a whole on the end without the handle and use a zip tie on the handle end and hook it around the wire on the cage. Then when the show is over you can cut the zip ties and just throw everything away. I would buy containers, but I dont want to have to soak containers in bleach solution when I come home if I don't have to.

I
Thanks! The only issue with getting that rooster is they tend to be aggressive. I'd rather not have a mean chicken here lol.
What?!? I can't believe you'd say a thing like that! Lol ;). They are very different looking, which is why i was originally attracted to them.
Thanks!
I also still need to add you to the members page. I haven't forgot, just been busy!

Is ok... You don't have t add the bitties. They went to their new home today and five of the red sexlinks are also going on Wednesday.

I was wondering about vickichicki.. really miss her too! I know she was super busy, so hope all is well for her also.
Finally... found the perfect nest box that my bantams approve of!
I set a milk crate up with lots of dry grass but this time set it with the opening at the top!
I had left a set of wood shelves in the Bantam coop that are attached to the wall. I set the crate on the lower shelf. Dark and cozy..
Diana (OEGB) hopped right in and properly rearranged the grass! She then proceeded to loudly announce the egg song, love my lil girl.
Fergie has also left an egg there today. Waiting to see if Fluff is truly laying...Has to be her.
There is no mistaking the Serema eggs, so I know it wasn't Victoria or Kate...

I've not had any luck loading it so here goes... If anyone has an I-4s and knows how to load the avatars please help me figure out how to do it. I've copied it to my pics...love it!!!
Okay Helpers ~ Can anyone help minmin with loading her avatar using her phone?
From what I understand, regardless of whether the phone is on mobile or desktop mode, there isn't a prompt to "Change Avatar." Anyone know anything about that?

mimmin ~ Is your phone an iPhone 4s?
kabhyper ~ That is too funny-- Ashes prioritizes location of her nest more than having eggs in her nest!
jchny~ So your Serema hens like the plastic milk crate turned the other way! Hens are so funny about deciding where to lay.
Leahs Mom ~ I've always admired your Swedish Flower Hen(s). The Mille Fleur pattern is what led me to select my Jubilee orp.
Note about plastic milk jugs~ Some recycling centers just take certain things, but it seems like most will take plastic milk jugs.

Christmas is Over ~
I've been wondering about vickichicki, Pipd, and Old Salt, too! And I'm going to have to yell at CRSelvey again-- and where's Cluck, Quinstar, Darth, browncow, hogster, pbirdhaven, littleamermom, rootbeerfloat, ThunderChicken, EmSteele, iamfivewire, amlambson, backyard bitten, strssd mom, barb s, ellymayrans, and many more!! Hope goodb is doing better after the loss of his RIR.

Serema eggs are soooo tiny! they are like a quail egg but longer and smaller!
My 2 are so odd about laying, none have been fertile yet either, Harry can't seem to interest them.
He tries, dances up a storm and really gifts them with all sorts of mealworms and yummy stuff.. (from mom)
I may have to crate them. I just hate confining any of the birds that much.
