I've been wondering about them, too. Maybe the holidays have kept them too busy for the boards.
December was a very busy month for me at work. The good news is that I passed my certification test when I was in DC, so the investment away from home was worthwhile.
I'm hoping my life slows back to normal in January.

I have a 4th generation Ipod that I occasionally get on BYC with, but I usually just use my laptop. They are both apple products and when set on desktop your screen should look exactly the same as mine. I have never changed my Avatar using my ipod, but I might be able to help you get closer to figuring it out...hopefully! When I am on desktop version on my ipod, I go to my profile, then underneath my avatar it should say replace avatar. Since my ipod can't store fiules of pictures I can't do it that way, but since yours is an iphone 4s you may be able to, I don't know for sure. But If all else fails you can try image url. You should be able to copy the image url in the box labeled image url. This is all I cna really Help with. I have viewed it before, but never actually tried to change my avatar through it since i usually do that on my computer. So I have enver sucessfully changed it using a mobile device (I never copied image url). Maybe you try this and see if it works? I sure hope it does!

Thank you for trying I've never noticed (when in edit profile status) anything under the avatar to "Change Avatar". I'll double chk it. If the avatar shows up you'll know it worked. : )

Thanks for the compliments on my winter avatar. If anyone would like theirs update with a different chicken and/or background, I don't mind at all. [Silkies] Yes, That is a nice way to look at it...I have never cared for the NB personally because I love bearded birds. You don't see many either, maybe you should acquire some!

I really like your new avatar! I've thought of changing mine, but not sure what to use instead yet.

I sooo want to add lavendar, blue & splash orpingtons to my flock. I've been drooling ever since I discovered such a thing as a splash existed when I first began researching breeds. My little lavendar orpington Brad hatched for me is still a mystery to me. The consensus from the pics at 12 or 14 weeks was that it was a roo. However, it grew a lot slower than the other 3 chicks. The 2 girls have started laying and the roo is as big as my other orp roo, but much more handsome. The lavendar is about the same size as the girls and isn't exhibiting a lot of mature roo features at this point. I really need to get pics of them posted to compare. If I had a way to get and hatch your eggs I would love some or to get chicks.... I'm also wanting the blue laced red wyandottes....


I actually would be interested if any of you near me have chicks coming from breeds that are good egg layers. I want to get started now growing them out. I know a few months ago I had been talking about being overrun with eggs and I have donated oodles to the food pantry. About 2 months ago some friends started getting eggs from us which resulted in her mom & mom's sister also getting eggs. Then I've had a number of people from church start buying (our youth pastor gave me a chunk of money & said to just keep the eggs coming -- I set up an "egg account" for him!) I had 3 people yesterday morning say they needed to stop by. Now I'm running out of eggs and need more layers now! I've started selling some of the duck eggs, but they're slower for people to catch on to.

I'm not sure about hens, but I just read in the paper that Snowy Owls have come to northern Indiana in search of food.
