They way he is standing and fluffed up reminds me of coccidia.

My little Seabright Roo I got from TSC cause DH said he was cute,
has grown up into a very beautiful Rooster and is the sweetest boy I have, he follows me around, sits on my shoulder while I clean his house, feed or play on the computer ( when I have time to bring him in that is ) and he talks to me the whole time.
This is King Arthur and he is very sick, I have tried vitams, extra protean, a heat light cause he is always cold. My vet can find nothing and he don't know much about this class of chicken. He now has gone blind, he finds his way around and to food and water by his mate chirping to him until he finds it. I will miss he badly if he dies and I really think Marian will grieve herself, she pays such attention, and takes such great care of him.
Does anyone have any Ideal? Please help if you can. We are getting desperate.
Those are cuckoo silkies! One of my favorite which I decided not to pursue breeding at this time. Cluckacres bought my cockerel from me.
Anyone interested in a homemade cabinet incubator? Ive used it the last 1.5 years with pretty good success. It has a digital incukit from incubatorwarehouse.com. For egg turners, I have altered little giant egg turners to fit. Total of 3 turners in the incubator and i also have a hatching tray for it. I hatched in the incubator once but typically hatched in my little giants. Im asking $200 obo. I can get pictures soon.
I agree with Brad that it looks like Coccidosis. My pullet that died just sat all puffed out like she was cold and wouldn't move around. I don't know about the blindness though.
the vet tested for coccidia and a few other common stuff and he came up neg. he ( the vet ) is going to do some checking up about his breed and right now I am treating for worms, Vet thinks the blindness may be something different????They way he is standing and fluffed up reminds me of coccidia.
Congrats! Must say, though, that I don't envy you (although German could be fun)!![]()
We don't live too far from Fort Wayne. My oldest graduated from IPFW. Wishing you lots of luck!
Haha, with everything I've heard about it, you must be insane to take organic in the summer!Congratulations! EEB is a fascinating field, with a great variety of applications both academically and in the 'real world'. Good choice! Sorry so many classes that you need were already full. We have the same problem at IUB - that's one reason students sometimes have trouble finishing in four years. Taking summer courses can help, although it can be a lot of material to stuff into a short period of time. I took organic chemistry over the summer (a long time ago) and found it tough to memorize everything in just a few weeks. On the other hand, I got it over with quickly!
I'm kind of with you on pictures, although I tolerate pictures better now than I did during my teen years (gosh, I thought it would be longer before I typed something like that out!). But, I am kind of uncomfortable with putting my pictures online, so I guess we'll see how that goes next Saturday. And thanks!I absolutely HATE my picture taken, but I will grin and bear it lol! Everyone knows pictures are not my favorite thing lol![]()
fantastic news and WTG
I would be nervous too, but wow so exciting!
I wish you would have said something sooner! I've already got a Brinsea Octagon 20 on the way here!Anyone interested in a homemade cabinet incubator?
