INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

To Leahs Mom -- I just can't get your part to "quote"
I just saw your post, somehow I missed a couple on that page. I am afraid I don't, but there's a few of us close to your area... Any luck finding a nest mate yet? I did just get an order from Mt healthy but they are a week behind on the hatch to ship dates.

here's hoping you found some!

There is an ad on South Bend craigslist in the Farm and Garden for 3 day old chicks in Plymouth. That shouldn't be too far from you. I hope you found a friend for your chick.

Picked up the 2 ducks today from Bradselig they are so wonderful and likes to be held and petted. They are loving their new home. They ran around outside for a while checking out the chickens and their new surrounding. They then retired to the coop on their own with out me even showing them.

Glad they are working out. I tried to handle them a lot when they were younger, but once they got outside, I never put the effort into catching them to handle. They religiously cooped up for me every night and typically will come when you yell, "here chicky chicky chicky". They like their treats lol. If you have any questions about them let me know. I always thought the lighter one was a male until I started to get 2 duck eggs a day. Lol

Incase you want to know, I got them on April 10 from Orschelns farm and home as ducklings. They got their birds on Friday, so they were probably close to a week old when I got them. They came from Estes hatchery.

not sure...I have to build another coop to have them. My daughters want silkies. I have to look into the different breeds and see what I want.I will probably get serious about it once I get my turkeys started this spring. I plan on having the banty coop near my kitchen window so I can look out a lot more often and check on them.
