Of course! It's quite a coincidence since one of our members was not smitten with her recent trip to the mitten state. We do allow members to vent -- nicely. haha I've always liked Michigan-- in the summertime. There are members of this thread who live very close to Michigan. This Indiana thread is very friendly and helpful. Feel free to ask anything-- we have every type from newbies to experts. Photos are always welcomed and we like to brag about our other pets, too. Do you have chickens now or are you thinking of getting some?Hello all - would it be ok to join in with the Indiana group? Lived in the Hoosier state (Waterloo/Auburn)from 1995 to 2004, although i currently reside in the mitten
I thought it was coincidence too lol! I think I was being nice lol. How is violet doing?Of course! I already whined to Vickichicki in a PM on another subject, but decided to whine here also. I had to take my African grey Artoo to the vet today and leave him there with a respiratory problem. He's my baby, and I'm super concerned.
To put in a plug for Hillview Vets in Franklin, there are 2 (I think 3 now) avian vets there. I have taken cockatiels, Artoo, peafowl, and chickens to them. They're great people and the rates are reasonable. They also treat exotic pets as well as the usual. Just thought I would let folks know that there is someone in the central Indiana area that will treat the birds.
On another note--love the pics that are posted. I don't seem to be able to take good ones but really enjoy looking at everyone else's.
Aww thats too cute! The EE pullet I got from Brad has started laying. SHe has laid 2 eggs. They are a really really light brown/ cream color. I collected one egg from the day before. she went back in and laid an egg. I got it out. Of course she was singing her egg song. I literally just got the egg out, she goes back in lays down get back up and keeps on singing. She keep doing this. I was like you little faker you just layed an egg. I think she thought it was funny because I would go back and check each time she got up, because I knew there was no way she laid another egg since she had just layed one. I think she jsut like to hear herself. She sand for and 1 1/2 hrs.
Thats great news! Will she be hatching also? I am worried my first group is all roos, today would be 8 weeks old on them, and not an egg yetState Fair starts tomorrow! The rabbits take over the chicken/rabbit barn first. We're heading to Indy tomorrow for the 4-H rabbit competitions. There will also be a "sampling" of some chickens/roos on display this weekend as well as incubators with eggs hatching. It was at the state fair where Chloe first fell in love with the tiny quail chicks & decided she had to have some. I think she's gotten close to 50 eggs now since they started laying a couple weeks ago!
Bradselig, uh, no thanks. I don't need that type of exam equipment around here, but Old Salt may find it useful.
I twas funny. I watched her for like 20 mins. I kept calling her a faker but she didnt care lol.Aww thats too cute!
