I had sulmet but the vets I work for also looked it up in their books and saw we could use trimethsulfa 960 tablets, figured the dose and they gave me a ton of tablets to use to treat and then have on hand for later use. The really sick ones that I had in the house I was using albon (same drug used on puppies and kittens) because then I could give them a set amount twice a day and I knew they were getting what they needed. Also had them on amoxidrops but generally when they started acting sick it was too late for them. I do still have sulmet on hand and the trimethsulfa tablets. What had us confused at first was it only seemed to be the chicks I got from Tractor Supply that were dying, then after the first 4 I lost one from a different batch but by then we had decided cocci anyway. My quail are living in my room in larger brooder boxes atm because I did not want to move them into their pen next to the chicken run while I was having problems out of the chickens still. I figure in another week or so it should be safe to move them out to their pen.
