I posted a question earlier about if chickens like snow.....most said no. I have a third stall inside that abuts where I am putting the coop. Maybe I could put a pop door to it and fill that stall with sand....sort of as an indoor run for winter. What do you think?

I won't be able to keep the netting on their outdoor run over the winter because of the way the snow comes off of the metal barn roof about 30 feet up. I also wouldn't want them to get in an "avalanche" when it lets go. We have a lot of predators here...coyotes, raccoons, fox, hawks, etc.....so I'd worry about them without the netting.

if you have the space for it etc it is a great idea in my opinion

We have a 30 stall horse barn with only 12 horses, so my plan of using one stall turned into two (DH's idea) and now three. I wish I were as lucky as these chicks will be.
