Two of our hens died suddenly last week, no signs, etc. The State Vet called (wasn't home) and said they tested positive for an infectious disease. She didn't elaborate because she wanted to talk in person. I'm going crazy because I have to wait until tomorrow to talk to her. We have not had a new bird in our run in a year, nothing that I can think of that would make them sick. Has anyone had this problem? I'm upset because I don't want her to tell me to kill all my birds, which are perfectly fine. Help.

What part of the country do you live in? Have there been any news reports of poultry diseases in your area such as an outbreak of avian flu?
