Injection site wound, is peroxide safe for a turkey skin or what can I do now ?

My tom turkey Igor had sinus infection and to save his life and get him breathing well I gave an injection or 3 actually , but one injection site began weeping today, injection was on 24 th dec , 6 days ago, what now ? Should I do, clean it ?
Proactive was to add only thing I had to his water , dura yacht....never had success with that stuff and put some bacitracin on spot

I'm going to assume drainage is clear and odorless. If this is correct, clean the area with 10:1 (boiled-sterile water: to Betadine). once area is clean, place a sterile gauze 2"x2" with a bit of plain Neosporin on it, place onto drainage site and tape in place. Change once a day (or when dressing becomes soaked (keep using the betadine). If drainage becomes discolored and/or starts to smell - get your vet to order an oral, wide spectrum antibiotic (Cephalexin is still pretty effective and inexpensive).

With luck, this is a sterile abscess, will remain that way and will slowly drain/heal.

Drainage is not clear. I read here at byc that salt soaks are good for infection, so I soaked it 10 min and removed the dressing to see pink on cloth and look at wound which now looks like a divot in skin the size large pea. Guessing we had an ablest beginning

I dont have Betadine but i do have Providone iodine which is like saying , i dont have Tylenol but i have acetaminophen as i call my pharmacy.

It is labeled 10% Topical Solution and i can only assume i mix that in 10 : 1 ratio then apply it to wound for cleaning, then Neosporin without pain relief with a 2x2 gauze.

Should work for him , i included a picture of him today and he has been willing to lay with the gauze applied to wound and i just used an old sheet to apply a little pressure to hold gauze in place .

Not dura yacht, dang auto correction but Duramyacin , Duramyacin is the only oral antibiotic sold in feed stores here in mesa az, tried other feed stores and all the others carry this same product. I have never had a beneficial outcome from using this product, told feed dealers but they say" its all they carry ", even after i requested another. I did find a livestock pharmacy nearby called walco, but they sell in large quantities for local farmers to use on herds of cattle or large flocks of chickens n turkey's.

If it gets worse and becomes an infected abscess then i will have to see my vet for the cephalexin

I'd use the topical Providone as is - don't dilute further - (daub around and away from open area of wound - then apply to wound - then apply dressing with the ointment). The Providone tends to dry out skin - but it kills most of the critters than might get into the wound from the outside. If the soaks are exacting an increase in drainage - keep it up.

The extra drainage was beginning to worry me, not knowing if this was to be expected, as it seems to be pulling more fluids to the surface.
Nothing foul ( no pun ) or yellowish looking thankfully

EVENING UPDATE, cleaned the wound site and decided to soak with salt water compress first as it makes seeing the color of drainage easier.
No more pink color from blood in drainage and wound appears to look less weepy, no color to the compress cloth, dry clean paper towel to hold n dry wound.
Applied the neosporin ( plain, no pain additive ) and a 2x2 with a little tape, hopefully it heals up quickly
Then i added my own approach to wound cleanliness because he is in a pen on back porch, i added a puppy piddle pad under wound area, this only works because he lays fairly still.
He had slid himself off the clean sheet under breast, so this works as a sort of turkey diaper for the area, no tape or fasteners, just a prayer he lay still through the night

Morning has come and dressing changed

The turkey had turned himself up onto his right side in leaning fashion, taking his weight off the breast so it was easily seen and cleaned. There are a couple pockets of liquid under the skin surrounding the injection site. I cleaned area with betadine then made a salt water compress, placed it on wound site for 10 min in an attempt to draw any infections out.
The liquid under skin looks clear so for now I will keep a close eye on it.

He seems to want up and off this side of his body , although he doesn't stand long, he is still able to get to his feet and doing so more easily
