Injured feral pigeon - need help!

How is the pi
Good morning lovely, helpful people!
You'll be pleased to know that Mr/Mrs Pigeon survived the night. He/she is a lot more active today, I can hear it flapping about inside the cat carrier trying to move itself around. Still no ability to bare weight on the legs though. His/her feet and ankles look a bit more symmetrical today and its trying to stretch them both out rather than holding one up with the toes limply hanging. Like I said, it still can't stand but seems a bit better able to not end up on its face. I moved it into my spare room to keep it warmer; I worried the shed might be too cold. He/she has had a tiny bit more fluids from the syringe this morning, a new hot water bottle and I'm about to go and buy some birdseed.
I was wondering about its ongoing recovery... Is there any way to isolate the injury without going to the vets? (I just don't have the money to do that). I worry if something is broken is might not heal correctly.
Morning @sophtoph and @biophiliac!
That's good news! I wouldn't worry about it getting to cold. As it's a feral it will be used to the fine weather we have been having! Chances are that it's leg isn't broken. If it was it would have swollen considerably by now. Here's a picture of a racer that I have that had a broken leg. He made a full recovery.

Like @biophiliac homeopathic remedies will be OK. I didn't splint it but I did get some Arnica cream to cover his leg to help reduce swelling and inflammation. It's not worth going to the vet. They wont be able to do much and will just recommended euthanasia. He should be OK but will need a good few days rest.

I live in Canada and the weather has been brutally cold as of late. Is is possible the bird could be suffering from some form of frostbite? If so just by restoring warmth the pigeon should improve.

One major problem if this is the case the area that suffered the frostbite will be even more sensitive to cold now that has been weakened. This damaged area will be prone to attack again and in the future.

I live in Devon, UK, and it's actually been unseasonably warm so I don't think it is a frostbite issue. Thank you for the insight though!

@CCUK and @biophiliac I took a video of his legs before I realised I can't upload it here, so there are some screen grabs I've attached. When I picked him up he was pedalling both legs and his toes are nice and outstretched. I can't see any obvious injury, so I'm hoping it's as you say and they're not broken. But that does beg the question of why he keeps falling over... By the way, how can I tell if it's a boy or a girl? I keep saying "good boy" when I go into the room haha!

After a second look at those images... what do you think of his right ankle? His right foot seems to turn inwards slightly compared to his left foot which is in line with his leg. There's also that reddish mark on his right ankle that someone mentioned...

To post your video, first upload it to Youtube or Vimeo. It's simple and quick... at YT just click on the video icon in the toolbar and follow the steps.
Some viruses can cause neurological symptoms.
Gender is hard to determine in pigeons...eggs are a good indicator its a hen.
I forgot to ...:welcome

From my experience I think you are right by calling it a boy. I have made mistakes mind you but I am usually right 9 times out of 10. He seems a bit on the large size and more iridescent that a female pigeon. Plus the contour of it head makes me think it is a.

Is he able to use the other leg(left)? I really can't tell much from the photos except it does seem like some kind of injury to the right foot/ankle.
