I did a more thorough examination today. I bent her hock and her toes curled, so I don't think it is tendon injury. I see no bruising or swelling. I felt all along the leg bones, comparing it to the other side and I now think the issue is with her femur or pelvis. She keeps her good leg tucked up underneath her but can't seem to bend her injured one up where it connects to the pelvis and she doesn't want to put any weight on that let. I'm going to see if I can rig up a sling for her. Has anyone done that? Do you leave the chicken in the sling 24/7?

I’m happy to report that Artemis is back up and walking! I made a sling for her and after about a week (and one day where I thought we lost her), she hobbled out of her crate and was able to stand. She is getting stronger every day. Now I am slowly reintroducing her to the flock. Many thanks to all for advice.

I have the same thing going on with one of mine. What did you ever do to help it? Is she still alive? The pic of the boo-boo is the healthy leg that is under her I think she may have hurt it babying the right leg that’s straight out. Any advise is welcome.
