My barred rock recently had an unfortunate encounter with the neighbor"s dog. All is well, lost a few feathers but appeared unharmed. However, 2 weeks later she is still not roosting and only walks short distances...limping. Can't see anything wrong. She is still laying eggs..just on the ground. She doesn't appear sick in any way and lets me manipulate the leg and does not seem to be in pain. Any thoughts?

I had one limp and stay on the ground for several weeks, I think 5 or 6, after a coyote attack. I couldn't see an injury, no swelling, warmth, deformity, etc., so I didn't do anything. She stayed with the flock, who did not harass her. Now she walks, flies up to the roost, etc. as if nothing ever happened. I hope this turns out this way for you, too.

Thanks for the response! I also hope she heals from whatever is hurt and gets back to normal! If not, it looks like I'll need to add a handicap ramp to the coop!
