I heard something wallop the front window a little while ago and went outside to find a small sparrow-like bird laying on the ground stunned. The chickens were very interested in it, so I picked it up as gently as I could and moved it to the fenced garden where nothing can bother it.
It's been an hour now and it hasn't moved. Just sitting there with eyes half closed. I hate, more than anything, to see something suffer. But I can't decide whether to leave it alone or to end its suffering. Maybe it takes hours to recover from hitting a window? It didn't act upset or resist in any way when I picked it up. Does that mean it's too far gone? I don't know what to do and I feel bad for the poor little thing.
