Injury on Polish chick wing

Glad you found a vet, since she is so tiny, that's the best route to take.

Is she eating/drinking o.k.?

If you don't mind, please keep us posted on what you find out, what the vet did, etc. I'm curious myself, but the information you provide will be helpful to others in similar situations.
Yeah ofcourse. I’ve had lots of people recommend bathing and spraying, which is what is most likely do at work. But, these are the kids pets and wouldn’t like to take a risk :(

Just been to the vets and unfortunately it’s not good. The chicks wing has gone in to necrosis and it’s spreading to the other wing. Because their bones are hollow, whatever it is, can spread quickly. She said antibiotics won’t work and if she amputated the wing, she doesn’t think that would save it as it may have gone through the body.

I'm so sorry:hugs

Does your vet have any idea what caused this?

Thank you. She thought that it looks like a hatching injury. Either occurred inside the egg or maybe during hatching. She’s seen something similar with an assisted hatch, but the person we got them off is a young lad and just keeps telling me they were fine when he had them. So I haven’t pushed it. :(

I just wanted to let you all know that my boss (on the farm) decided to take the chick tonight and get some of her contacts to look at her. She’s been brought back to me with a bit more hope. There’s a lady who is a poultry specialist coming to have a look at her tomorrow as they want to give her a chance (without her suffering obviously). They said the fact she is so alert and eating and drinking etc she’s very vocal and active that they want to try and give her one more chance. Fingers crossed for tomorrow x
