integrating 6 week old chicken with 8/9 week old chicken

how easy would it be to put 2 6 week old chicken with 2 8/9 week old chicken. Turned out I had a rooster and want to replace that bird. I also heard it it easier to integrate 2 instead of 1. What are your thoughts

I would get the new birds and quarantine them. Then I would add one of the older birds to their pen and let them work things out. I would then integrate the other older bird the same way. Good luck.
