Eggplucker...absolutely love your coop, run, and enlarged run surround design!!! I just finished my new coop 4'x6' and run 12'x6' for my six baby girls that is similar to yours in looks, the inside of mine is smaller 4'x 6' with a window, four nesting boxes, and two roosts looking out the window. We have many raccoons here so I opted for hardware cloth on run walls, under the full length and width of it, then landscaping cloth over that, and topped with pea gravel. No critters getting in there! Oh! And hardware cloth over the window too. After seeing your wonderful design, I will start on an enlarged run like yours in the spring. Thanks for the great pics! Great to see other coop interiors. I was wondering if my coop for my first time peeps was enough for them and I see know it is. I like the nesting box ideas, the coop I was given has one long nesting box and I was thinking I should seperate it into 3 boxes now I have ideas on how to do that!

I started out last year with a 6 x 8 quaker style coop with dog panels for the run . Then of course went on ( just this summer ) to getting my husband to build me a 20 x 50 lean-to on one of the horse barns . That was not an easy task as he has been resisting this chicken thing . We put a dumptruck load of sand in , which I love . I am re-working the roost and just stuck the nests in . It is sectioned off and has three gates , now I need to put up my new clear plastic tarps . Yeah ! Will I ever be done ?

I got all my ideas from this chicken board .
