International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

The eggs where cold so I have decided to wait and put them in my incubator tonight. I candled a handful of the lightest eggs and aircells looked good. The others where too dark to see in them.He did a awsome job of packing! The post office did their best to destroy them but awsome packing one out! They smashed all 4 sides of box. I have hatching questions. What is too low of humidity. With my auto water tray in and covered with foil. I am getting 40% humidity. With tray out I am getting 26% humidity. Any thoughts? I am aiming for 35% humidity.

They are here! There are 43 eggs total. 11- BC = Blue Copper
7- Bls= Blue Silver Cuckoo's
7 - lines are Blue Birchen
18- wh = White
Harvey said they have lightened being this late in the season. They still have good color. They must have been super dark! My camera always lightens. They look even darker in real life.

I hatch Marans eggs alongside my other breeds so cant dry hatch. I have been keeping my humidity between 35-45% and the Marans hatch just fine. I raise humidity to 60-65% at lockdown.

Try a small tupperware bowl instead of the humidity pan. Thats what I use.

Finally got a chance to sit with my new additions. 13 wks now and I'm thinking they are looking really good. Not sure what's up with the dimple in Princes saddle area - he did get spanked by Chester 2 wks ago so maybe? Feedback?!

I see some really nice type in your birds. Lovely toplines and tail angles. Your cockerels have plenty of color. I think you'll get some nice breeders out of your bunch! :)
