Mine average between 65 to 70+ grams. New layers always lay smaller, that's normal. The eggs will get bigger as the hen lays a while.

This little fella Is my best chance at getting that low tail, he Is over colored so I'll be pairing him with 2 or 3 of my slightly overmelanized lady's and pray they throw some nice cockerels.

Yea I know, I have over 100 chickens. This is just my first group of Marans.

I see what you mean, i was thinking you were talking about bcm. My misunderstanding.

Heh, well, birchen are just bcm with silver instead of red, only a few tweaks different from those. There's not much of a birchen Marans thread, so I just follow along with this one, as everything besides the difference of silver or red is the same.

I am going to start some works in my new place in the country. I will do some things before I get the permits. that way I hope to move there around christmass.
