Here's a picture of the best boy I have left. Hercules (green boy) wasn't very cooperative but I tried. He's not terrible but has some white in his tail, shafting his chest and a little bit of a halo but he'll to do. Blue boy was beautiful. I'm thankful I still have this boy to use though. I didn't take any pictures of black boy. His tail is borderline squirrel tail and he has white on his wing and tail. He would only be used in an emergency.

View attachment 1546963 Anyone ever use this kind of waterer? Winter is coming and my Marans tend to freeze their waddles (and combs) I was wondering if this type could help.

you have to check that waterer every day. chickens peck it and it can break and block water.

My personal favorite of the 3 is white. I think he will have beautiful type and topline when he matures. I love how low his tail is right now, because from my conversations with Harvey, a bird with a low tail like that at your cockerels age will be just right when they mature. They still have a ways to go and some growing to do yet though before you'll know for certain which to keep. White is a very lovely cockerel! He would be my pick.

Thank you, I am leaning white also! He may just be younger than the rest. I had 4 shipments and each shipment had different ages.

Well look what I got 4 days after I bought eggs. Oh and my husband put me in a window. The one house was kind of dark. Now I can see into the run without walking around the building plus it adds light.
