Here is another prospective breeder pullet, if her tail doesnt get higher that is. All pics are same pullet.

yes her tail is high .I don t see where she is going to help you out in what ara > exept if she lay stunnig dark eggs .
she is inferior to both Malika and Perfect .
you have many dark hen I think you should focus on Perfect and make sure hatch 100 of her eggs with all the cockerels you have ,and select from them .SHE IS A COMPLETE BCM PULLET.
I could be wrong maybe she is just penned and look short with high tail .photos of her free ranging will be more far I think .

the pullet or hen who is going to beat Perfect has to have a same look and lay darker egg than Perfect .other wise Perfect is the best breeder of true coloured BCM chooks .full stop .

here a patern I see in your chooks ,
you foudation hen Queen ,has produced Malika , and Malika has produced Perfect .so that is your line right there in front of your eyes .
your line is a pullets line .it is based on W sex chromozome not the Z chromozome .it is a reason the pullets are correct but the cockerel are missing some thing is in W chromozome they can not get it from they moms .
what you need to do is the find a proper Z chromozome well coloured ones. to add to them so they will start throwing complete body pattern cockerel .

your line is lucking a well coloured Z chromozome .mean a well coloured cockerel to cross them too . what I m trying to fegure out .

I see a correct Z chromozome in Marchick Cockerel Nimbus .

Here is one of my prospective breeder pullets. She is still maturing so hopefully her tail stay low. The pics are of the same pullet, she just didnt feel like posing at the show. Her earlobes are a blueish color and that is her only fault that annoys me.

I will never guessed it is a same pullet . photos don t do justice to the bird .
I like her ,she has a good hackle marking .and great body type . her tail look good to me .
what her story please ?

for you ,no need to do single mating .we know who is mama hen ,the 2 bL pullets and 2 BC pullets .

breed them as 2 groups . pen breeding . best cockerels from one pen will be mated to best pullets from the other pen .

the year after is a same thing . line breeding as group .select the best and correct eggs ,incubate and hatch .select and move on .

simple and efficient .
2 breeding pen /
1 big pen for grown up and the spare rooster .few layers too .

2 breeding pens and 2 grown up pens is the best .each group is look after separatly .no mixing the ting up no need even tagging .just at final selection when you want to mix them up to breed from them

First hatch I will have Nimbus in with Rose and Lily and Pearl their mom. Blaze in with Ruby and Jade. Hatch from both pens first hatch. Then move Pearl over to blazes pen and hatch from both pens 2nd hatch. Is that correct chooksman?

so far I selected Queen ,Malika ,Perfect and this young pullet no name yet . grand mom ,adult hen and 2 young pullets better than both old hen . so there is improvement on the pullets departement .we need to do a same thing with cockerels .

you don t need 100 hens to bred a good line .you have enough I think 4 females and 3 cockerel plus Duke and his sister . plus you are going to get chicks from Marchicks .I think your breeding program for this year is complete .start building and conditioned the breeder for the spring .remove any cockerel/rooster from they pen .let them rest .
pen the 4 together and look after them well ,you already penned the cockerels in a safe place do a same thing with those 4 hens please .

I guess I am a little foggy on Pearl. Not quite getting it. If she is in with both roosters doesn't her eggs need to be separated from Rose,Lily,Jade and Rubies?
