International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

The only concern I have with him is his tail angle. He is still young now and not crowing. I suspect his tail will creep on up higher as he matures.

wat do you say that .from the photo his tail angle look good . the main feather is not up .it is teld low .the rest will fellow . high tail will long back is not that hard to deal with like high tail /short back .

He is very chill and easy going. Most of them are. The Marans are the most docile breed I have. Very easy to handle.

I have some nusty ones .they are my favourite ones to go and see .they have carracter .one of them want to fight me all the time .just his routine .I go in ,he come forward and charge ,we go forward and backward for few minute than he walk away all proud of him self like he won . make me lough . will never get ready of him .
only me goes in to thre nusty cockerels pen .my worker want to kill them all .

Generally if the tail angle looks correct at his age, by maturity it ends up being too high. That is just my personal experience with them. We'll watch him and see. He has broken feathers in his tail from roosting in stupid places. I will pull the broken ones out and allow it to regrow.

We get plenty of man fighters as we call them, especially in the Games. Just a couple weeks ago I got hit in the face by a gamecock I was shipping to Texas. He seemed docile when I set him on the scale but got a wild hair and attacked. He had intact spurs, not blunted so when he shuffled on my head he punctured above my eyebrow and in the top of my ear. It bled fairly badly. I'm glad he's gone. Lol
