Right! I was the whole time thinking I need a BC cockerel over my BLC hens. The one BLC cockerel from the beginning I really liked him. There was just something about him and I liked him better than all the rest even the BC. I liked the BC everything but his size and I was doubting he would catch up. Boy am I glad I kept both of them. Culling is the hardest part for me because I don't want to cull too early and regret it.right there with you, I would feed all those birds for way too long trying to make a decision.
Thank you!sorry to hear about your knees .
knees and the cold weather don t mix well . hope you get well soon .

if the white feathers appear in the first 18 month .than it is genetic .
if the white appear after the big molt 18 months then could be related to other thing .like stress ,sickness etc,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
white any where is bad news .

my friend I told you ,you have a good marans .
banded 20 cockerels not 50 .
I have 50 rings that all not enough to cover all my cockerels from all 7 groups .so I need to order 100 more rings .

@marchick and @kfelton0002 .you both worry too much I think .let chooks express them selves .you have to look @ what they have now as good traits .not to worry what they will have in the future .nature know that ,we don t .so we don t have to worry all the time about every trait .
enjoy the beauty they are showing now .in this moment . not what you think may happen .

Good to know! I'm glad you cleared up that misconception then. So far I've not found any white in my females. Just a few males, mostly white underfluff under the hackle. I will hopefully get a handle on it one of these days.
