International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Hi I know this is a black copper thread but am wondering if this guy is worth hanging onto and what I could do with him. At some point in this thread Jose mentioned that there are certain types that can be bred together without causing too many problems so now I'm wondering if I should get him some wheaten hens and if I do how to go about breeding them

this guy is a golden salmon X birchen marans type . his silver is good but still have Autossomal red .
you can breed him to the wheaten hens ,you will get Salmon/Wheaten with some Birchen throw back .
will take years of selective breeding to get there . if you enjoy breeding chooks ,than you have some thing to do . it is possible

chooks man

I post my black silver(birchen) on here regularly because it is a very active thread, but occasionally the birchen thread gets a hit. As long as it's marans, you are safe posting here.

It sounds like fun. I'm Wondering if it's something I could do it.
How many chicks would I have to hatch every year? 10? 20? 100?
What would I be looking for at hatch so I wouldn't have to grow them all out.
How do I get rid of the autosomal red? Just by selecting?
What if my females don't have a salmon breast?
Does that make them an automatic cull?
Do you have some pictures of correct ones that you could share?
