That is so sad. I am Praying for them all. We do youth group and some that are still coming have become adults 18 and 19 years old but they still come every week. One of the boys he is 19 and a volunteer firefighter. I can't help but worry about him. It's a dangerous job. Very proud of Shawn.

Hi everyone- :frow

So glad to hear you are ok Chooksman. I saw pictures of the fires on the news and online. Been thinking about you and your animals. Hope you've had no damage. I'm sad to hear of all the troubles there. Fire is scary! My thoughts and prayers are with those who have lost loved ones, homes, and animals. I really feel for the children and families of those firemen. Hopefully things will get better soon.

my chicks are growing fast . first group are 15/14 weeks old ,cockerels start to crow and causing problem ,time to separate the 2 sexes next week for sure .16 weeks of age is a time to separate . pullets are going through a lot molting .

group #2 are 12/11 weeks old . they are free ranging now , a lot of chicks from Big Blue have a bald back causing the feathers picking . I don t like that . Big Blue is a carrier of Very slow feathering gene .Kn or Ks .both bad genes . his cockerels progeny has a naked back and no tail . Khabib and Samir#2 gave me a stunning progeny ,big and sound chooks . happy about them .

Group #3 are 8 weeks old ,moved to they new outdoor coop and run ,they are well happy about it ,trees and grass .no complain . this group is my favorite ,those one are all my own pairing from my flock . I got it alright .all the chicks are stunning . Day Walker has produced the best marans chicken I ever seen . Enki second . those are marans .
marans X CLB { Golden Boy } produced the most colorful chicken I ever seen in one hatch . if you guys want to see them go to Jose s Marneck Thread .

Group#4 and merged with Group#5 to form one super large group .because they are from a same pairing .mainly from Liza s . this group is over 200 chicks they are 6/5 weeks, they will go outside to they new pen .this coming weekend . it is too hot for them inside the purple room . this group is less colorful mostly blue /black and Splash . Day Walker progeny and Golden Boy chicks are the only colorful one s .

Group #6 are the last and they youngest past 2 weeks old , like what I see . A lot early feathering type . Avgen roosters are Early Feathering type and all they pullets progeny are fast feathering type complete tail and wings . my future cockerels BL/BC /SP copper will be from this group .By By Slow feathering type .

Sorry no new photos .soon .

Glad you and your farm is safe! That is so tragic about the young fire fighters losing their lives. My deepest condolences go out to their families. :(

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, and have a Happy New Year as well. Christmas is a very chaotic time, so I am not sorry that it is over. lol

We have been in a battle with a fox and possums (caught on camera killing birds). We have lost many chickens to them the past couple of weeks. We trapped and killed one possum, but the fox is still on the lam. It's always something. The birds that were killed were all my husband's Gamecocks and a few Game cockerels.
