30 first egg are the true indicator of the genetic make up of the pullet. The average of the 30 in every thing. Weight. Colour. Size etc. Not just one egg

We need to see balance not extreme. How many eggs are dark in those first 30. Number 4 is a minimum. I like the pullet who can lay 5 and 6 in this first 30 Balance.

Witch one we choose as breeder. Hen who managed to lay a average of 5 egg color in her first 30 but no 4 or 7.
Hen 2 managed to lay her first 6 egg really dark 7 or more but she drop to 3. Hen 1 or hen2

The only way I get good pictures if I let them free range and catch them unaware or they are in the coop on the roost and I am outside the coop.

my chickens think that camera is either a gun or something to eat. half of them run away and the other half tries to peck it.

So far all the pullets are layings 5-7 consistently, no light eggs, some with spots. Very pleased with the eggs and the pullets. I think Bello and Claudio are from different birds than Antonio. He is very different than they are. Bello and Claudio look very much alike.... sometimes hard to tell them apart but Antonio, he is such a hunk. He is what I want to see in my yard.
