International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

The BCM rooster from the MCCUSA has a bad comb. The first 3 point are fused not define forming 2 M s plus the Blade is touching the neck
See.... this is why we can't do combs till Chooks man is up and running again. We need to start with a different part of the SOP.

my friend's marans:

good for soup, lol. he knew nothing about selective breeding and ended up with these. their offspring made me cry, I didn't bother to take some photos. too dark, even cockerels have bent combs. I was lucky, marco and luna's parents came from his place.

Maybe you can help him improve his stock down the road.

I plan to do so and he is interested in. as I can have 1 pen only of bcm he will have the other one so we can exchange the roos when need to introduce fresh blood. his daughter and son in low lost jobs and started to spend more time with his chickens. that is promising. they are willing to learn about chickens besides feeding and nursing them. they, like me, cannot kill the chickens, lol.

Chickengr the chick is a pullet well chunky. Short on her feet. Next time you will have a better luck Chooks man

thank you.

I am preparing the packaging for the eggs and I will buy a vacuum sealer. I am going to send it all to monique and hope that this time the eggs will arrive safe and sound.

RedBank and Kfeltoon you both have a good bass to recreate the GCM from the current stock you both have. It is easier and will work well with a BCM. Don t worst your times with this solid Cuckoo.
