Blue copper pullet 8 months old . she is very big and heavy . named her Bluekhania.
mother is Dalakhania.
Father Black Mamba
she need more copper on her hackle ,she has enough for breeding purposes not show ring . she great in all other area .I think she is laying .did not have time to catch her .
her comb is to die for .

solid Blue , a little bit darker but great lacing .
the points on her comb could be better . rest all great .
she come out of my dominant white hen .Greenland and Splash copper rooster Samir . so Greenland is solid Blue under the dominant white plumage ,great to know .
named this pullets Blueland .

it is easier for you in the future selection if the eggs are marked .
hens give different result when mated to different roosters .

I was still in the mode where you said with my pens set up this way I wouldn't need to band them. That was before I lost the 2 black hens. Then after the 2 hens died I marked the eggs. The more I think about it. It is a 80% chance first hatch is Ruby. Second hatch is a mix of Ruby and Jade. The 3rd and 4th hatch are all marked. Even at marking the eggs. There was a couple odd eggs that I went back and forth is that ruby or Jade's. I had to make my best guess on those. It is still going to be a challenge on Violet and the two blue hens. Knowing who is laying which egg.

I think Pearl is my parasitic white carrier. She has a white foot feather. I just noticed Nimbus also now has a white foot feather.

that is problem .do not breed from them . work with Blaze tell you get enough chicks , you are mating him to all your best hens .so there is a genetic diversity in there .

What if Blaze is also parasitic white carrier? Jasper has no white that I have seen.

hello, I have a chance to get BLACK COPPER MARAN. 1 rooster and 8 hens for $200 from what I have learned they are rare and great birds. Roosters are kinda friendly but not overly aggressive.
Could someone help me out on learning more about the breed before I shell out the $$

Mean rooster had his spurs removed! He is only a year and still can put deap holes in you. I couldn't even imagine if he had 2" spurs. No blood at all. I hope we can break him.
