you are worrying too much .the cockerel is fine ,.mossiness on the cockerel is no as bad as on the pullets .the cockerels carries a lot colour pattern in they genes .
if the mossiness is on the lower part of the body { chest ,lower abdomen } than it is a problem .
you cockerel is mossy on the upper part of his body .

Just so we are clear the last picture isn't the one you liked. That is the other cockerel and I am going to cull that one correct? Next to last picture is him and he actually only has like 2 dots of mossy so I think that is good. I believe first hatch is from Jade. Second hatch I think may be a mixture of Jade and Ruby. Hatch 3 and 4 I marked who they came from. I have eggs from Jade, Ruby, Pearl and Original rooster pen hatched 2 BC in hatch 3. Hatch 4 goes in lockdown tomorrow.

Now when I hatch from violet, Pearl and the two out of Jaspers pen. I probably will only be able to tell Pearl's egg. We will see!

this cockerel is the one I like , he is your future super start .
great long/wide body type .
great head /eyes/ and comb to die for .
he is not going any where .

he is your standard that is a type of cockerel we are looking for .any cockerel who doesn t look like him is a cull .
Keep only BC cockerels please .you do not need BLC cockerels .

Mossy boy BC is bigger. They may not be. I know the first two hatches I didn't mark eggs.

it is easier for you in the future selection if the eggs are marked .
hens give different result when mated to different roosters .
