both of them are nice .long and chunky type . the one next to a BLC pullet look more chunkier ,wider ,has more depth .

both look good to me .
the mossy wings on the first cockerel is a sign of well colored shoulder . it is not the thing to worry about .the upper part of the cockerels body has to be colored ,so it normal . too young to worry about .

That may be the other cockerel not sure. If it is he is mossy but pictures didn't pick it up for some reason.

Next thing is figuring out when and out of which batch. These are the hottest months to ship. That's not good. September would probably be cooler. What state are you in? I can't remember. I will need a shipping box and figure out paperwork.

I'm in Kentucky. September or even October would be good. There is a new shipping box from Horizon that is cheaper than the old ones to ship in. I will be looking into them and can let you know. I will send you the link. Once you know the cost of the box plus postage I will reimburse you for it. HM didn't send any paperwork when he shipped Duke or Duchess. I dont think the post office cares as long as the box is appropriate.

if you want to have color in the cockerels shoulder ,than you have to work with a hen that have a complete hackle marking . you have few in there that I think they will produce well marked shoulders .
and if you want to have a cockerels with a complete shoulder marking not peppering type than you have to work with a hen that have a complete hackle PLUS dotted chest with copper .

when breeding for a complete body pattern ,we have to to make sure one of the breeding pair { Rooster or Hen} have a chest marking . not both .

I dont have any hens with color on their chest but I have a few hens with good hackles. DA has color on his chest. Hopefully this year's progeny includes a few well colored pullets.

DA has color on his chest it is enough . you don t want the hen to have color on chest just good complete hackle .

I wouldnt fill out any paperwork releasing the PO from liability. They guarantee the birds arrive alive. When you ship priority express the shipment is insured for up to $100. If the bird perishes during shipment, the sender can file a claim and is reimbursed up to $100. That would help cover cost of shipping out a replacement bird. I sent two white legbar cockerels last year that unfortunately did not make it. The PO reimbursed me $100 and I resent the replacement cockerels. Unfortunately I went in the hole because the shipping was more than that, but at least the buyer got live birds the second time and was happy with them.

They told me they wouldn't ship them without it. I shipped birds back to HM that he didn't mean to send. I think shipping older birds and day old chicks is different.
