BLC stand for Blue copper
BC stand for Black copper
late maturing type will need 10 months to a year to fully reach they prime .

this guy has a correct body type .long and thick . I m not sure if he is as wide as he is long .good head and good shoulder color come along .his hackle is yellowish { split hackle marking} should be coppery and uniform .
but I like his type .better photos are needed .

him and the black have long tail .tail need to be short and full and base .

his comb has a double point .

I was so excited when I went out tonight. A couple BLC pullets are showing some Copper. This one had quite a bit.

Getting color on the BLC pullets has been a challenge. I am very pleased that some are showing Copper.

nice to have pullets showing copper at that age .full hackle marking is very important to produce a well colored progeny in the future .

Black Jack bred to show off . love his stand and wide shoulder .hold his tail low ,great . copper quality is stunning .

Chooksman, I have 4 BLC cockerels 14 weeks old. I think I will keep 1 of them. He has nice Copper. The rest I can butcher? They already have lighter hackle feathers. I am thinking of butchering them at about 18 weeks old. I have 3 with this lighter hackle and saddle feathers.
