Here is Albedo, he's now about 18 months old and the only recessive white cock who made it to adulthood out of his brothers. He might be carrying some autosomal red or he's sun bleached.he ended up alright.
The cockerels and turkeys are picking his tail a bit.

he is good looking . good body type .
his comb and plumage type { tight to the body ,free from any fluff } are of high class .
is he out of your Birchen line? because his legs look darker and his wattles are not smooth. they is few fold in there .
he is almost there .one generation away .
about his yellow hues , could be Autossomal or sun light like you said .hard to tell if he is free ranging .

Indeed, he's a son of Mr Big, who came from greenfire blue birchen group. My other line I've had 7 years, the greenfire blues came in about 3 years ago now(because I'm a sucker for blues and dh bought them for me as a present)

this pullet is the one laying those lovely dark eggs . managed to catch her yesterday .
her sire is from Import line BLC big solid boy ,her mama is BLC hen from liza s line her best dark egg layer and biggest hen too .
I will breed her to my Solid Black Rooster Black mamba { his daughter lay dark eggs }.first round ,
second round i will breed her to her true brother ..
3 round she will bred to Dark Blue Cuckoo cockerel .fast growing and very big specimen like her .this pairing is for body type and fast growing chicks .

she is my best hen is farm now .name her Dark Angel after @kfelton0002 cockerel .

She is fantastic! Dark Angel suits her well. My DA is the best natured male I have ever raised. He is like a feathered puppy. Dark Halo on the other hand should be called Satan's butt crack because he is very aggressive unfortunately. Will have to replace him as soon as there is a worthy candidate.

I work Behavioral Health in a psychiatric hospital. The gowns and masks all day make it rough.


We need marans pictures....

My grow outs are still young but I will take some pics on my next set of days off.

I commend you for working in psych, you have a tough job. We get a lot of detox patients on my floor when they get too unstable to be in psych that are going through withdrawal and DTs and it is rough.

Here are a few grow outs I managed to snap some shots of on my way out this evening. They are young and its too early to tell much about them. There are 2 blue copper cockerels and 1 black copper cockerel (broken wing) that have good eye color. That is just out of the ones free ranging. I haven't looked through the youngest ones yet in the brooders.

Pardon their tail feathers and gross appearance. Some of them have chosen to sleep on the ground and we have had a lot of rain. They have also been feather picking so I am battling that!

Here is Broken Wing. I couldn't get a good pic of him with the pen door open. He is a big ham for attention and likes to be held. He is son of Dark Halo and Jolie. I have him taped up so his wing will heal.

I may throw in the towel with blue coppers then and soley focus on black coppers. I didn't raise any blue copper pullets this year. We have had raccoons kill a lot of my grow outs and have trapped and killed several of them. If I end up with at least one decent pair of black coppers I will be happy.

I will get better pictures of broken wing as he heals up and can be untaped. I will keep him penned up and safe.
