This is my #2, he is younger at about 4 1/2 months old. I don’t like the blonde I see on his neck. His head/neck look alittle small compared to his body. (To be fair he still does have some time to grow) His body/chest is already the same size as #1 which is why I like him. They are from 2 different breeders.

Marans rooster should have a longer neck compare to his body size but smaller /flatter head .

No , rooster #2 his hatch date is April 17 under 5 months old. Like I said he is big compared to my #1 which is why I like him.
Rooster 1 hatch date March 3 so he is just over 6 months.

5 months cool ,than he is really giant . he will produce black pullets .
still he is no way closer to cockerel #1 . this cockerel no way he will produce black pullets .

this photo of cockerel #1 is stunning .
only thing is worrying me about him is a white on his feet feathers .
let see how his tail will grow . hope is not big .

I really like him . copper to die for . if I had him I will make him produce me pullets .

it could be a giant blood line because the hens that go with #1 are alittle smaller but much more beautiful.
Hens that go with roo#2 are much bigger but not as pretty.

cockerel #1 will make pullets #2 produce good looking pullets .
cockerel #1 daughters will be really pretty 100% .

here a proven formula if you want to know =
if you are breeding for big size /big type .use big hen/hens in your pairing .
if you want to breed for body pattern and color ,use a correctly colored rooster .
if you want to darken the egg color .use a hen who lay dark eggs for a long period of time .

photos of the pullets please. they have some thing to say too in breeding pen ,they can not be neglected .
I always see peoples post photos of they cockerels/roosters but not much posting photos of pullets/hens .

this girl is very solid .gorgeous and correct body type .good strong head on her . small comb .
the best trait she has is strong bones /good head .great stand .good mass .

what color egg she hatch from?
I like her a lot . she will part nicely with cockerel #1 . she has mass/size .he has color = they will throw a lot correct looking BCM progeny .

she is really big .need better photos of her .
you don t think those pullets are pretty .but me I found them gorgeous .big solid girls .

SOP does not call for pretty girls .

those 2 girls will breed well with cockerel #1 .name him please.
