International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Here few photos of my new farm northern part of NSW state about 900 km north from my existing farm in the highland . This new property is in the hills cattles and horses country a lot forest and lot water too. This place was gifted to me by the native aboriginal tribe of this area to build my poultry breeding operation and to maintain the health of the land . I m so great full to the owner if this place we have been friends for more than 15 years . They like what I do and how I do it too.
There is a lot building as houses / cabins and sheds even a tennis court . Lot room for my chooks far from peoples and they mess . No body will complain about my roosters any more .

I will post more photos in the future. I have to start building my chooks pens and coops so I can move my chooks before Xmas .
Troy is keeping the the highland farm till the end of the lease 6 months from now than he will come up here.
This is the biggest guilt I could wish for .

Now I start shopping for more animals to work with , more chooks breeds , turkey . Peacock/ hens. Guineafowls . Goats . Sheep etc………and more.guesses and ducks .
I need to plants a lot flower for the bees too.

PS : now I have been adopted by the tribal mob of this area . My new tribals name is a black possum . I m very lucky and happy man . I will spend the rest of my life with my new tribe in this new place .

I am glad you will be far away from the cities. you have a big chance to survive when bad times come. make sure to provide feed for your animals. the old fashion way, grow it.

what chicken breeds will you get?

I currently have: silkies, dongziang (or lukedanji) - black meat/bones, blue/green egg layers, gold laced wyandotte and a few egg layers (hybrids). ordered: pita pinta asturiana, british araucana. I might take cuckoo marans from my friend. she is not happy with them but she keeps them in a big cage. I hope they can do better with more room.

I have toulouse geese crossbreed, pekin ducks, bourbon red turkeys and will get guinea fowl and peafowl.

I am looking for damascus goats and considering sheep as well.

I forgot to mention naked neck! I'll try not to get more breeds as I have about 1 acre to keep all of my animals. another acre is for my house, garden and field for growing different crops. my 1/2 acre plot is a bit down the road. I need to fence it and prices skyrocketed.

I did not forget naked neck, I just forgot to mention them, lol. they are the breed I fell in love when I was a kid. at that time we didn't know breeds existed. people had colourful flocks for eggs and meat.
