Always loved Cream Legbars! I have 11 now, ages 2-8 years old.

So you are thinking about adding some Wyandottes? I've always loved that breed so pretty! I've had gold laced in the past, beautiful also. I've been raising a few this year too. My cockerel is Blue Laced Silver and I have 4 pullets that are Black laced silver. One pullet just started laying a couple weeks ago. Hoping the other's start before it gets cold here.

@chickengr I had to look up the pita pinta asturiana. Never seen those before. Really nice looking bird. I'll have to keep my eyes open for them. I have always been partial to spotted and mottled birds. Lovely!

@Bantambird Never seen a chook that didn't go crazy for sunflower seeds. I grow some each year too. This one is lemon queen, my favorite. It branches so gives many blooms per plant and is a black oil seed type. I've also grown some of the single bloom giant ones too. What do you usually grow?

we tried growing some first time in the garden this year, we grew the mammoth variety, it towered over everything and had dinner plate sized heads. the wild birds loved harvesting them before we could!

in difficult years to come many breeds might go extinct. that's why I will keep more breeds (as well as a few friends of mine) so that we preserve them. we are trying to keep different breeds from each other so that we preserve as many breeds as possible. I am worried how to keep them safe when city people leave cities and start stealing animals. I believe it might happen soon. I am considering to keep a pair of wild boars at the far corner of my property. do you think that would stop them?

BCM pullet 18 month old . She is actually a hen now we can t call her pullet any more it is just a term we use Troy s and me in a farm . We have 2 groups one is the older hens and the second group is a last year pullets.
This young hen has a stunning body type excellent conformation . Very thick and heavy . Her tail is a little longer she is a daughter of BKCM rooster CTB over a BCM hen Philippine. She inherited the tail type from her sire . Her eggs are not very dark #5 at best . She hasn’t t got much copper too just a little like her mother
