My oldest daughter has insisted on making a splash pen, so this year I will have a splash pen. I made a pen out of a two horse trailer for them, and put in two white hens with the 4 splash hens and the splash roo. I told her no more, young male is unproven and inexperienced so she can't overload him. He's pretty laid back, but overall this is a young group outside of the 2 year old white hen so I'm not going to hold my breath on them. I let her know she won't be incubating any eggs until they meet minimum size requirements at least, but teenagers are definitely eye rollers about thinking they know everything. We will see how they do once their eggs reach quality standards.

I bet she is excited!
Would love to see photos of this group when you get a chance.

Oh WOW! 😍
If these were on my property I'd never be able to get any work done for sitting and watching them. Such eye candy!
I truly hope they do well for her. :fl They are beautiful.

I'm not so old that I don't remember being a head-strong teen myself. I had my own ideas about things too. We learn as we grow and make our own mistakes. Hopefully she will learn from her Mama about breeding Marans cause Mama's doing a fine job!
Now, why we gotta be soooo far apart? :barnie
